Jennifer Bell
Partner
Jennifer began her career in the San Francisco advertising industry where she remained for ten years. She spent the first five at Goldberg Moser O’Neill/San Francisco, formerly Chiat/Day. At GMO, she worked on Dell Computer, Dreyer’s Ice Cream, Kia Motors, Rollerblade and others. She later lead consumer research projects for clients Old Navy, California Pizza Kitchen and Lane Bryant for Tattoo, a brand consultancy. She also served as strategic planner on the Visa account at AKQA, and on the Cisco Systems account at Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners/West. Jennifer returned to her hometown of Eugene in 2004 and was most recently the Marketing Director at the Science Factory Children’s Museum.
Jennifer is one of the first University of Oregon Journalism grads to pursue a career in advertising account planning, which was new in the U.S. at the time. Part anthropology, part psychology, and part sociology, it’s the planner’s job to help the agency and clients to understand the target audience, often using a mix of primary research (focus groups, one-on-ones), observation, and secondary research. This in-depth understanding leads to smarter, more effective communication for clients and is practiced in nearly every large agency in the country. Jennifer is the only account planner in Eugene. Jennifer has also served as an adjunct instructor in the UO School of Journalism & Communication.
